2019 Trophy Cup Receives Adjusted Title

by Ron Rodda

When the 26th Annual Trophy Cup takes place at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway on October 17-19 this year, a slightly modified name will be used. The event will now be known as the:

Abreu Vineyards 26th Annual Trophy Cup Presented by Rudeen Racing

Besides the event title, one other change is the 2019 Cup champion will receive a record $26,000 for accumulating the most points over the three nights of competition. Each year the plan is to increase the winner’s payout by $1000 as part of the over $200,000 that is paid for three days of racing.

Offering a $200,000 purse for winged 360 sprints, the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway will host the 90+ eligible entries on October 17-19 for the 26th anniversary. Thanks to continued support from the track and many sponsors, the purse will increase by $35,000 over last year.

The three preliminary nights will now pay $4000 to win, $2500 for 2nd, with $1750, $1300, and $1000 completing the top five. All cars that make the Saturday A main will be guaranteed $5000 total pay for the three days, a large increase from the previous $2000 guarantee.

Invitations will be sent mid-April to those teams that either raced last year or would have raced if not for injury or being affected by the Northern California fires. The name has been altered, the purse is the highest of its 26-year history, but the unique and challenging format will remain unchanged.

One Comment on “Welcome to the 2019 Trophy Cup

  1. Where can I get a list of cars and drivers entered? I make my own program and record qualifying times and race winners to third place in every race.
